  • Ben Bickford

    Ben was called to the Bar in 2013.

    Ben is a criminal barrister appearing for both defence and prosecution.

    Ben has extensive experience appearing in trials, sentences, bail applications and other associated applications at all levels of the criminal justice system including the Local, Children’s, District and Supreme Courts.

    Ben also has experience appearing in Coronial Inquests, Royal Commissions, Special Commissions of Inquiry, ICAC hearings and the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission. Ben is a member of the NSW/ACT Legal Aid Indictable Criminal Law Barrister Panel and the Complex Crime Barrister Panel.

  • Russell Boyd

    Russell appears in all criminal matters including jury trials, sentences, special hearings, and defended Local Court hearings.

    Since coming to the Bar in 2020, Russell has developed a solid District Court trial and sentence practice. He regularly appears in sexual assault trials and has defended persons charged with other offences including kidnapping and serious violent offences.  

    Russell is able to draw on his previous experience on all sides of the justice system. He has worked as a criminal defence solicitor in Sydney and Melbourne, a solicitor for the NSW Director of Public Prosecutions, a Tipstaff to a Justice of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and a criminal fraud investigator in Canada. 

    Russell also appears in regulatory prosecutions brought by agencies such as local councils, NSW Fair Trading and the National Parks and Wildlife Service

  • Jason Hale

    Jason was called to the Bar in 2013 and practices in the areas of criminal law, administrative law and industrial relations.

    He appears in the Supreme Court, District Court and Local Courts across NSW including Sydney, the Central Coast, Newcastle, the Hunter Valley, Tamworth, Lismore, the Mid North Coast and the North Coast.

    In addition to his defence work, Jason has been briefed to appear as a Crown Prosecutor. He has been briefed to appear at ICAC, in royal commissions and special commissions of inquiry.

    He is a member of the NSW/ACT Legal Aid Indictable Criminal Law Barrister Panel and the Complex Crime Barrister Panel. He is also a tutor for the NSW Bar Association.

  • Jack Tyler-Stott

    Jack Tyler-Stott brings over 20 years of experience in the criminal justice system. His practice is predominantly criminal law, with the majority of his time spent in the District Court. He appears in all jurisdictions and prides himself on thorough preparation, personable nature, and effective advocacy.

  • Sally Rostron

    Sally was admitted as a legal practitioner in 2004 and called to the Bar in 2023
    Sally specialises in criminal defence with a particular focus on early appropriate guilty plea matters, jury trials and judge alone trials. Sally appears regularly in criminal matters in the District Court, Local Court, and Children’s Court. Prior to being called to the Bar Sally was an accredited specialist in criminal law and worked as a defence lawyer at Legal Aid NSW for 9 ½  years working in the indictable and committals team before becoming a Trial Advocate for 3 years before being called to the Bar.   

    Sally is appointed to the Legal Aid NSW Indictable barristers panel for EAGP matters and District Court trials and sentences.

  • Rebecca Suters

    Rebecca has practiced exclusively in criminal defence work for 25 years working for the Western Aboriginal Legal Service and Legal Aid NSW before being called to the Bar in 2014. Rebecca is significantly experienced in trial work and in the pre-recording of children’s evidence, having worked significantly in the Child Sexual Offence Evidence Program since its pilot stage.  

    Rebecca is a member of the NSW/ACT Legal Aid Indictable Criminal Law Barrister Panel and the Complex Crime Barrister Panel.

  • David Quinn

    Called to the Bar in 2024, David brings valuable experience in criminal law and advocacy through his time at the Aboriginal Legal Service (NSW/ACT), the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency and in private practice. As a Senior Solicitor at ALS and a Trial Advocate at NAAJA, he has successfully navigated a wide range of complex matters in the Children’s, Local, and District Courts.
